Emil Woerner’s review published on Letterboxd:
This was the kind of film I always hoped the Coen’s wouldn’t have made. It’s a tired, familiar and occasionally problematic romantic comedy that I was really just waiting to end the whole time. There’s not much to say here. It was funny on occasion, with that Billy Bob Thornton scene stealing the whole movie (we’ve just accepted that BBT is an incredible actor right?), and George Clooney was born to speak dialogue written from these two - but beyond that, I don’t see what separates this from a film like The Ugly Truth. The Coen’s have a way of making us laugh, and maybe that’s all this was meant to accomplish.
