Emil Woerner’s review published on Letterboxd:
Happy I got to rewatch this thing. Shoot it’s way up there, maybe I need to see it again, but this film is one of the best about drug addiction and greed I’ve ever seen. It’s the funniest film Scorsese has made, the best performance by Jonah Hill and Margot Robbie and possibly Leonardo DiCaprio, and features the best cast of the decade, with appearances from John Bernthal, Rob Reiner, Kyle Chandler, Matthew McConaughey, Jean Dujardin, Spike Jonze, and John Favreau, just time name a few. It feels like a runaway train, like a party on the way to hell. It’s the kind of movie I’ve always wanted Scorsese to make. It feels a little too simple to bump it up to a 10/10, but maybe that’ll change next time.
