I don’t even know what to make of this. Two women left 15 minutes in and I considered going with them. This is a freaking tonal mess. It’s all over the place. The humour is so D grade, barely any of it lands. The majority of this run time is a slog to watch, but there’s a handful of moments in the final act that I liked and altered my feelings towards the film (hence the generous 2 stars). The cast is good and the performances are there. I had no desire to see this film but me being me, I have to see every possible awards contender. I should’ve stuck with my gut. I think I prefer Cats.
