I was, sadly, unafraid whilst watching this.
I am also of the opinion that Stephen King is correct about this film. The book is better (also scarier)β¦Iβm sorry Iβm like this but the two stars are for Jack Nicholson - he carried the movie tbhπ
I take my music history *very* seriously. And Iβm an intense student when it comes to Chopinβs and Lisztβs lives and music. Thereβs so much wrong with the βaccuracyβ of this piece, but it was all worth it. I laughed *a lot.* Liszt smokes a hookah, Chopin faints in a gun fight, and Marie dβAgoult gets the snubbing she always deserved (Bernadette Peters is DREADFUL and I loved it). Also Judy Davis is a DELIGHT as George Sand, and Iβdβ¦
I watch this every year on Good Friday, and it remains the *only* film Iβve ever seen that can make me weep for two hours.
