Shiva Baby 2020
performance and writing are stars! great example of the level of authenticity and effectiveness that comes from writing what you know and what’s important to you. brilliant mix of genres that feels natural (being bombarded by your family about your future and their judgement is certainly comedic psychological terror). s u b t e x t ! love the girl boss slander. this film somehow managed to make me feel extreme anxiety and yet endearing comfort. one day, one location, 78 minutes, efficiency! this will most likely be one of my top favorites i’ve watched this year. and that’s shiva, baby!
