Warm and sentimental, the film is just missing something that should warrant a higher grade. Maybe it's too long or predictable but at least the cooking scenes are on point, as are the knife skills on display.
I unabashedly love this film. Great effects, emotional heft, and just an all around crowd pleasing experience. Hugh Jackman's charm is incredibly high because his character is still likable despite doing everything he can to make you hate him. Coupled with fight choreography by the great Sugar Ray Leonard, and you have a surprisingly complete family/action/drama.
