I don't think you appreciate the gut reaction people have to these things.

Steven Spielberg really nailed the element of anticipation in Jaws. He really lets the early scenes breathe as he builds the anxiety, making the viewer constantly scan the beach, the foreground, the background, trying to pick out who will be the next victim. He's toying with us, letting the camera linger an extra moment on a swimmer, or follow someone walking on the beach just a moment longer…

Is Doc Miles gonna have to choke a bitch?

Crank: High Voltage is THE contemporary exploitation film for the 21st century. Some have called it a trashterpiece, others say it's a feature-length Grand Theft Auto film. They are right! It's trashy and low-brow, but it's a goddamn blast and a super fun watch.

This film makes me so happy because it's such a great sequel to the original, as it doubles down on all of the best elements of the…

Then came those UN regulations and messed everything up.
Personal exploding device is such as complicated word for a landmine.
Those regulations trimmed 25% off our profits!

    The entirety of Part 1…

There's a few performances to enjoy here, particularly Dick van Dyke, Steve Coogan, and Mickie Roonie. Otherwise, it's not very funny, the writing doesn't rise up to meet how fun the premise is. The "disappointing single dad trying to impress his son" plot doesn't really do it for me.

    - the Facebook comment which enticed me to go see this in theater

Hoooooooly shit. At least two moments, maybe more, where my jaw was on the floor.

I wasn't initially interested in seeing this because I figured the trailer spoiled the film, and while I wouldn't recommend anyone watch the trailer beforehand, it doesn't spoil the core conceit of the film.

This is a spectacularly enjoyable horror, it's an absolute blast,…
