Office Space 1999
9 to 5 but with men and worse. still entertaining! i thought this would have more of a heist flare but it kind of feels like a quintessential 90s/early aughts hangout movie. had a few good chuckles. perfect runtime. aniston’s arc was my fantasy when i worked at restaurants.

The Battle of Algiers 1966
it’s interesting that much of the praise for this film is about its objective portrayal of the algerian war because idk how you could watch this and be pro french occupation. maybe that says more about my politics than the movie but i felt 0 sympathy for the french lol. the tactics the women of FLN used were fascinating to watch. didn’t mind the repetitive nature of the guerrilla warfare scenes because successful de-colonization is my kink i could watch it all day.

Top Gun: Maverick 2022
genuinely shocked by how much i loved this. the external stakes are perfectly medium (if they fail they aren’t gonna start wwiii or some shit) which is so refreshing in an action blockbuster. it’s cheesy in all the right places. tom cruise is an unmatched talent. miles teller is meh. makes me never want to join the military, good! shirtless beach scene did nothing for me smh men do not know how to capture the sexiness of other men.

The French Dispatch 2021
wes anderson at his most wes anderson which makes this film great for some and miserable for others. being visually titillated can only capture my attention for so long. was engrossed in the first story but was fighting sleep during the second and third and the grating pseudo intellectual dialogue was like anti ASMR. when will we be free from the shackles of the anthology? the actors were ackting their hearts out though and i appreciated it.
