Yi Yi ★★★★½

Yi Yi is a tender and delicate family portrait that looks into the difficulties of three generations as the members embark on a emotional journey that offer moments of beauty and great truth. Edward Yang's film celebrates ordinary life with its mix of joy and sadness, struggles, regret and simplicity; in a philosophical level it reminds us that, no matter how hard we try, we will never be capable to fully understand life and its nature. Yi Yi is a rich and deeply moving experience that invites us to reflect upon our lives and not to be afraid to see the world in a different way.
