I was expecting this to be utter garbage from the trailer, so perhaps that left me vulnerable to over-praising but I really enjoyed this film. It’s stupid and ludicrous and blah blah but it is a hell of a lot of fun.

Some things don’t work, obviously. The Thomas the Tank Engine stuff falls absolutely flat and some of the ‘hey, isn’t this dialogue from Deadpool?’ dialogue reminds you that a) the first Deadpool movie did that schtick really well and b) Jesus can we move on from it now? It’s getting old faster than this train moves.

Anyway, I like films that have loads of comically unnecessary gore, multiple character arcs, a bit of a mystery, and Brad Pitt. So overall Jeff, it’s a hit for me.
