Ephereal’s review published on Letterboxd:
If you like music you HAVE to see this.
The musicians that came through Sound City, the way they talk about it. the way they talk about each other and the Neeve controller.
This is an ode to the analogue era, the love for making music with soul, integrity and humanity, an era of music the likes of which we will never see again.
It doesn't outright condemn digital music production and at times actually praises the things it can achieve (how Grohl talks about Reznor in particular, you can hear a certain admiration there)
Seeing how people we consider superstars, look up to others with equal admiration and amazement.
Musicians, actual, real musicians playing music the only way they know how. With everything they have.
I better stop. this is just making me want to watch it again!
