While certainly not a BAD Sci-fi thriller.i feel this film hasn't quite held up.
I enjoyed the premise, and applaud the creators for what they managed to achieve at the time, on such a small budget.
How ever I think that by today's standards, the acting left a lot to be desired, and there was a lot that I personally felt could have been done, but was either intentionally left ambiguous or ignored all together.

    This may be my own…

  • Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

    Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

    Watched this on a whim.
It popped up in the Netflix menu and having enjoyed "Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter" I decided to give it a go.
This movie is good solid fun!
It sticks surprisingly well to the original Pride and prejudice story while incorporating zombies in a very unique way.

If you like Zombies, period peices, or just plane FUN! I recommend you give this one a try.

  • Professor Marston and the Wonder Women

Professor Marston and the Wonder Women

    This movie is absolutely brilliant!.
Really good look into the poly amorous lifestyle and how it effected this professor.
Ita also very interesting to see the foundations wonder woman was built on.
It would have been slightly better has they gone a little bit more into the psychological side of it but then it wouldn't be quite as approachable.

    Definitely recommend.

  • Tusk

Wow, I don't even know where to start.

This movie begins almost normal.and quite interesting.
The moment our protagonist meets the old man, it seems like a strange comedic twist on the "Life of Pi" approach to storytelling, however things turn very dark very quickly.

The movie does have some light moments of comedy throughout, but the main tone remains dark.

If you want a very unique experience. This is it!

  • Bloodsucking Bastards

    Bloodsucking Bastards

This was certainly a decent movie. It's a slow burn comedy that really works.
It's not like other comedy horror that go for the completely inane humor so synonymous with the genre,(not that I don't love that too, I do) it actually almost works as a black comedy until the final sequence.
Good performances and some great character acting.
I can recommend watching this as a good "wind down" comedy horror.

  • Rupture

This movie is hard to review without spoilers so I'll remain about as vague as the movie was.
The whole thing to me, seemed to play out as one long and overly complex analogy for religious indoctrination.

It was certainly and interesting concept, and one I've never seen tackled before.
But that doesn't necessarily make it good, or bad... It just kind of is.

  • Air

This movie was both interesting, and not interesting.
The interactions between the cast and their motivation were a good concept.
However the way it played out was very vanilla Sci-fi.

I would recommend watching this as a re-tare on your expectations on Sci-fi, sets the bar back to medium.

  • The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse

    The League of Gentlemen's Apocalypse

    Crass, crude and utterly offensive.
I bought this from a $2 shop not knowing anything about it, and I'm sincerely tempted to ask for my money back.

  • Cyborg X

    Cyborg X

This movie is a whole bunch of stupid fun.
There's so much about it that just doesn't make sense. So many times they could have saved someone by not just standing around dramatically.
Basic laws of physics and anatomy just not being adhered too.
Even some lines and scenes being obviously lifted directly from other movies.

But when you roll all these terrible things together, and add in a splash of Danny Trejo.
It all just kind of works as a "check tour brain" popcorn film.

    Best enjoyed with friends.

  • Red Sonja

    Red Sonja

This movie had so much potential.
It had some very progressive ideas, that were all almost immediately trounced by Sonjas constant being saved by a strong man.
The whole movie was generic from word go and all aspects thst could have made it a powerful conversation piece were wasted.

  • Once Were Warriors

    Once Were Warriors

A very confrontational and almost too real look at the effects of abuse, from both inside and outside the family.

It's hard to say this movie is enjoyable based upon its content, however it is worth watching because of that content and the powerful message it represents.

  • Colossal

Despite the negative reviews for this movie from most 'film buffs' this was actually a pretty interesting watch.
The premise is fairly unique, and the way they manage to keep all the characters in play is very well written.
