so much more kinetic than the original. i love how it contrasts with argento's conception — the different ending, the muted pallet. guadagnino drained the blood from this movie — it's barely alive, thrashing and angry.

definitely would've been better if it didn't try to get deep at the end. would've been GREAT the last half hour didn't exist (like, imagine how brutal it would've been if it ended after those Häxan-looking scenes). ultimately, kajganich's script gets too busy and political to function.
