Eric’s review published on Letterboxd:
Michael Crawford's vocal performance and subsequent song is the highlight of this movie. Whenever his gracious pedagog is not present, the pleasant but paint-by-numbers structure of the narrative, becomes all too noticeable.
The soundtrack is proof that James Horner is the musical theme of my childhood.
James Horner, Will Jennings and Michael Crawford are the unlikely creative team we all needed.
It's far darker than I remember, but not needlessly. It has fairly direct points to make about human and animal coexistence.
