Eric D. Snider’s review published on Letterboxd:
Pure delight. Walter Matthau plays a broke rich jerk who seeks to marry a doofus heiress (Elaine May, also the writer-director) for her money. You forget sometimes that movies are occasionally written by Writers -- people who know how to put words together in an engaging or amusing manner. The dialogue isn't just functional; it's funny. Yet the thing that made me laugh the most was a bit of physical comedy involving an awkward dress that May isn't wearing correctly. Just a gem of a movie all the way around.
