Eric Heiman’s review published on Letterboxd:
My favorite final scene of 2020. But it wouldn’t be if the build-up wasn’t equally well-considered. Sound of Metal avoids every narrative cliché one would expect from such a story and instead illuminates cracks and crevices of our world too ignored in mainstream culture.
And, oh yeah, Riz Ahmed. Riz Ahmed. He’s the metronome of this quiet, fiery film. It falls apart without him.
