A little bit of Cronenberg, little bit of Verhoeven and ofc.. a lot of Schrader. Giorgio Moroder's score is pure dynamite 🔥🔥🔥
To say that Jake Gyllenhaal is great in this film is an understatement. He is so terrifying and so, so fucking brilliant as Lou Bloom that Jake himself doesn't even exist. This isn't a performance, this is a creation of a twisted human being. He brought this character to life. Hands down the best film of 2014.

Revisited for like the hundredth time and still amazed over how perfectly composed and written every single scene is. QT surely was right, not only MIGHT this be his masterpiece, it IS his masterpiece. Just slightly above ''Pulp Fiction''.
