Like other "based on true stories" tale before it, Lion was predicable. But it didn't make it any less inspiring, touching, and heartwarming. It is, after all, an emotive story about how sometimes, you need to give up and let life takes it course for things to work out as they supposed to be. That sometimes, we would found happiness only once we've accepted the bitter reality that perhaps it is lost forever. Dev Patel was great and he made me felt things, but it was Sunny Pawar who really broke my heart and got my tears welled up. Him, along with Abhishek Bharate, made this movie really worth watching. My only gripe was how being a Saroo-centered movie came at the cost of other characters' nuance and development. Rooney Mara was sinfully underused.
