Esther Rosenfield’s review published on Letterboxd:
a far cry from the moving sweep of snyder's other film this year, but i got a kick out of the nerdy enthusiasm on display. it's really rare in american blockbusters now that you can say "that's something i've never seen before" but i can confidently say that "zombie god-general wielding rebar commands legions from zombie horse" checks that box. notaro is great, bautista is great. what the fuck was up with those dead pixels all over the place? i thought it was something to do with netflix's streaming architecture but they're visible in the trailers too. which makes me think it's more likely something to do with the cameras netflix forces their filmmakers to use lol. what a shitty studio. anyway yeah this is fun!
