This film is so important. It is incredibly powerful and every single viewing moves me. It is so impactful and I infinitely impressed with the performances throughout. I feel like this film was ahead of it’s time and incredibly underrated and not talked about enough. I cannot even begin to explain how profound the black and white scenes are in this film, being exceedingly impactful. Could watch this one over and over throughout the years and be equally if not more moved every single time.
"Nothings the same after you've killed someone. Your life is changed forever."
Absolutely love this movie and everything it offers. The time floats by and the action is stellar. The performances are great and easily one of the most memorable movies I watched with my mother as a child. I always recalled it as "the movie about the girl with the plant"
Great movie all around with an adorable chemistry between Leon and Mathilda up until the very end.
Hands down one of the best films to ever exist, Whiplash hits all the right notes, pun intended. It's a perfect masterpiece from start to finish. The performances are great, the story is captivating and intense and I really couldn't have asked for a better film. I can't help but asking myself every time at the end... where does Andrew go from there? Do him and Fletcher learn to deal with each other so Andrew can continue on and be…
“I’ll fucking kill you!”
I haven’t taken time to write a review in some time now (motherhood becomes me 😅) but I wanted to hop on a write a quick review on a second viewing of “Punch Drunk Love” because this viewing was somehow even better than the previous. Extremely accurate in depicting mental health issues including but not limited to social anxiety, anger issues, depression etc. Sandler is perfect playing the role of Berry and while being a relatively serious movie brings plenty of humor to the table. I have no complaints about this one and can easily say it’s one of my favorites.
"I've gone where the universe takes me my entire life. It's better to make those decisions for yourself."
After watching this a second time directly after a full re watch of the critically acclaimed "Breaking Bad" all I can really say is.... wow. What an epic masterpiece in all regards. Aaron Paul is somehow even better in El Camino than he was in breaking bad somehow. His performance in both is such a spectacle but there is just something about…
"You're an ideal astrological match"
How is this movie SOO aesthetically pleasing but SOO fucking wild?
Ari Aster blows it out of the water with this one, probably being my favorite creation of his yet. It has such visually pleasing color, yet such disturbing shit going on throughout right up until the very end. It's one that you won't be able to look away from no matter how much you want to at times. I also can't help but fall…
“I think you’re the fucking Antichrist”
Chefs kiss. It can’t get much better.
I can never get over how great this movie is. From start to finish, it’s absolutely perfect. I’ll never forget the first time I watched it and how changed I felt as a person afterwards. This cult classic is one that will be cherished for generations to come for all of its brilliance for sure. If you’ve never seen it you’re missing out.
Absolutely amazing, visceral, and brutal.. this is one of the most amazing remakes EVER. I can’t even begin to express how much I love this movie. The gore is top notch, the special effects… amazing. Definitely one of my all time favorite horror movies of all time and one I can re watch and never get tired of but especially epic during October horror movie marathons ( it was fun introducing my kid to this one. He loved it ! )
"I don't know what the hell's in there, but it's weird and pissed off"
John Carpenters "The Thing" is a horror film of epic proportions. It's most certainly a classic, but for me personally... it's number 3 in top the list of top 10 favorite horror films and pretty high up on top favorite films of all time in general. For one we open the film with an absolutely beautiful Kurt Russell with his perfect locks of hair. I don't…
“You always hurt... the one you love... the one you shouldn’t hurt at all”
Life hack: watch blue valentine every time you feel some type of way about life and get your heart absolutely obliterated by this movie.
This holds such a special place in my heart and it’s everything I could ever want in a movie l, even the parts that make me want to kill myself. God damn there is just something so beautiful watching Dean and Cindy…
"But do you feel held by him? Does he feel like home to you?"
Unforgettable in every manner, 'Midsommar' is absolutely one of the best horror films ever. I'll never forget seeing it in theatres and being completely unaware of how wild this movie is. I left the theatre that day feeling so uneasy I thought I was going to have a panic attack. I can honestly say not many films have made me reach that level of uncomfortability so…
“I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life.”
This is one of those films that really change your life. It’s beautifully ironic story is one that I could never forget. There’s really nothing I dislike about the film. Kevin spacey makes this film what it is, and I just really have to be thankful to exist the same time as this gem. It’s humorous, emotional, beautiful and twisted in its own unique way,…
