Heaven Knows What

God this is a hard film to watch. It's compelling but raw. I know no one like this, it's as divorced from my life as a fantasy film. But that didn't make it any less real. Hard to really put into words how visceral this whole film is. Safdies are undoubtably auteurs though, the camera work goes from long lens from across the street, picking their characters off in crowds and dwarfed by the city around them, yet they feel immediate in the frame and close to the viewer. Keen for their next film
