This was decent, there’s certainly a lot to interpret and understand, but as a whole after the first act, it just kind of felt repetitive to me. Romance movies in general usually don’t interest me, so maybe this was just a victim of that. Oh well. The first 20 minutes were 10/10 though.
Didn’t really do much for me. Felt very unoriginal and everything I liked about it is also present in the movies this is taking from, so I can’t even really give it credit for that. Joaquin Phoenix was decent, but I don’t think this will be remembered as a truly great performance as other people are proclaiming it to be. Pretty disappointing.
I remember liking this when I saw it before, but not this much. This is an absolute masterpiece. I adore boogie nights, but I think this will be passed down as Paul Thomas Anderson's magnum opus. Everything from Daniel Day-Lewis' performance to the beautiful cinematography and haunting score is absolutely spot-on. I can't think of any flaws with it right now. The ending gave me goosebumps as I was watching.
