I really do think Almodovar reached a high point in the mid to late 80s and the mix of comedy and pathos, elegance and desperation here is top notch. From the opening scene movie in a movie to the last images of passionate sacrifice there is a sadness to love here. Everybody wants some. And it hurts to get it. Love it when the title comes up to the tinny 80s Jazz score a few minutes in.
