• Tentacles

Interesting but annoying! I was entertained to a degree but didn’t actually like it. Part of the Into The Dark series on Hulu. I rated it a little higher than most people because I felt it had merit. I also did like the ending but most of it was too annoying for me  to recommend it. I felt the character environment at the end was the most interesting and should have been the environment for more of the movie. I…

  • The Devil's Backbone

    The Devil's Backbone

A tragic dark tale! A little slow at times but very well made. Directed by Guillermo del Toro. I was entertained and impressed by the movie though I probably wouldn’t watch it again because it is so depressing. It has nice gore effects. Extremely dark for a movie that most of the characters are kids. If you are a Guillermo dele Toro fan it is a must see! I had to rent it on Fandango.

  • Crawl

An entertaining nail biter! Directed by Alexandre Aja who also directed the famed French extreme movie High Tension. If I knew he was the director I would have seen this sooner. The effects were good and nice gore. With plenty of jump scares you won’t be bored! The story is sort of one dimensional but it’s fun! If you haven’t seen it check it out on Hulu.

  • Inferno of Torture

    Inferno of Torture

This Japanese movie is insane! From the legendary horror cult director Teruo Ishii. The gore is excellent especially since the movie came out in 1969. The sex and violence will be to much for most. I did enjoy the story based around tattoos but I would consider this exploitation cinema so beware. You can check it out on Arrow.

  • Midsommar

Even better the second time I’ve seen it! There are so many small references and paintings that pre-shadow the events of the movie! This movie is so beautifully shot. Brilliantly directed by Ari Aster. I enjoyed Florence Pugh’s performance even more this time around. Still Bat Shit Crazy more of a subtle way! You can check it again or for the first time on Amazon Prime!

  • The Stylist

    The Stylist

This movie is awesome! The opening scene blew me away! Directed by Jill Sixx that even gets to die in her own movie! I have enjoyed several of her projects in the past. I really liked her directing since her first short which I have seen several. Plus her segments on several anthology series and I think she will become a legend! This is her first directed feature length movie. This movie is shot beautifully and the gore is awesome…

    Koko-di Koko-da

Interesting surrealist horror movie! Twisted Groundhog Day! Very interesting dark imagery that you will see again and again. Never realized how unnerving mosquitoes sound. Now sure if I enjoyed but I’ll probably never watch it again. I feel it does have artistic merit! You can check it out on Shudder.

  • Yummy

An extreme, gorie, blood fest. Also listed as a comedy but very light on comedy. It was entertaining! The gore effects were quite good! It was intense! You definitely won’t be bored! You can check it out on Shudder!

  • Stay Out of the Attic

    Stay Out of the Attic

Good and bad together it was entertaining! A shudder original. A few of the special effects were awesome with most being decent. I also liked some of the performances and make sure you stay for the end credit scene. The movie wasn’t great but I kinda liked it. I found the three main characters very likeable so I can overlook the not so good parts of the movie. I did think the script/story lacked depth and a few things are kinda gross. Check it out on shudder!

  • Wrong Turn

    Wrong Turn

It was entertaining but I felt it wasn’t well developed! Almost a cheap knock off of the original but a different basis for the story. Not as good as the original. I wouldn’t put on your list for must watch but check it out if you come across and have nothing else better to do!

  • The Dark and the Wicked

    The Dark and the Wicked

Very wicked! I was told it was a slow burn but I didn’t see it that way. Subtle at times but the pacing adds to the horror! Many disturbing scenes. Not really gorie but plenty of of blood. Wish there was a reason for it all but maybe I missed something but it is still entertaining. Check it out on Shudder.

  • Willy's Wonderland

    Willy's Wonderland

Nicholas Cage movies are always different! This one doesn’t disappoint! Nicholas does the whole movie without saying one word. He proves he can be over the top without crazy lines. Free Bird at the end is a nice touch. Not a great movie but potential to be cult classic! Check it out if you get a chance.
