  Mike Leigh crafts screenplays by piggybacking off of non-recorded improvisations that he bases just from straightforward one-line scenarios. he picks the best ones he and his actors end up concocting and refines them to make meticulously precise sequences to then be filmed. learning about this method through his, David Thewlis and Katrin Cartlidge’s 1994 commentary was revealing as an amateur moviemaker. here are just some of the many quotes that stood out to me from it:
