“Politics doesn’t interest you. Why? Because you have no interest in changing a world that already suits you.”
a cute dose of fun boasting a stellar, confident lead performance by Millie Bobby Brown, who lends so much life to the film’s instantly iconic heroine.
nad hits the nail on the head in her great review imo when she speaks of the film’s “formative fluffy feminism.” ngl, it kinda warms my heart to think of kids growing up with this content, as silly and heavy-handed as it may be. I genuinely think media that champions empowerment in the face of gendered barriers can have a big impact when ppl are growing up & searching for themselves in stories on the screen.
glad to have Enola Holmes in the spotlight, would love for there to be a sequel!!
