The Favourite

The Favourite β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…

β€œI need to take control of my circumstances.”

round three, and still a perfect movie in my eyes... every line is a banger; every beat hits home, whether comic, tragic, or both at once; Olivia Coleman remains a master of acting; the characters continue to unfold their many layers, beckoning us as if down a dark labyrinth, deeper into unnerving psychological corridors, deeper into this strange mess of power, manipulation, and suffering. πŸ‡πŸ‡πŸ‡

β€œAs it turns out, I am capable of much unpleasantness.”

featured in part 4 of my favorite films edit

p.s. The Great on Hulu is from one of the same writers as The Favourite, and it shares the same dark satirical instinct & anachronistic irreverence, as well as Nicholas Houltβ€”needless to say, I highly recommend it
