You have to keep in mind that this movie isn't about a story or a climax, the movie's more of a collection of memories. Every scene is the film at its best, there's not a single shot that isn't perfect for the tone and attempt at teen emotion. Every shot of someone on the train listening to their favorite band, or on a long walk home from school is perfect. It's perfect.
