Eater and maker of electric shadows.
No longer using star-ratings.
Effortlessly flows from farcical to thriller all the while being wonderfully human.
An achievement, an achievement, an achievement and an achievement!
A sumptuous exploration into style and thematic interplay. The text, visuals and subtext are intertwined in a dance that trumps many other debuts of similar natures.
Bloodshot Heart simultaneously echoes exploitation and Giallo cinema of the 70s and 80s whilst being far more controlled and exact than those films ever were. Distilling these characteristics into a Australian (migrant) context, it feels like the appropriate and honourable next step in this branch of discourse.
It’s great! Find it! See it!
I’m quackers for Bloodshot Heart!

Do not be fooled by the title, no one is shawn or shanked in this movie.
