absolutely beautiful tableaus. admittedly at the slow, quiet, and arty end of things. smart and natural acting. Lily Gladstone in particular was fantastic. the actors were successful in conveying the internal lives of the characters, in the way that the best Alice Munro short stories do. better than Julieta in navigating that translation.
to me these stories are tied together by a vein of loneliness and lack of listening. Jared Harris's epilogue ties them together - it doesn't matter what you talk about, but people need to actually talk with and listen to each other.
