Larry Yoshida’s review published on Letterboxd:
A never going to be champion boxer rescues his neighbor, a taxi dancer. They begin a relationship and plan to run off to start a new life together. Her scumbag boss does not agree. Standard noir stuff. What sets it apart is this is early Kubrick. It's beautifully shot and shows hints of what would soon follow. Not a film that I'd repeatedly go back to, but a must-see for noir completists and Kubrick cultists.
