Death Star No. 3, unengaging new characters and a sweaty teenager prone to temper tantrums who looks suspiciously like a young Snape as a villain.
For me, there was no spark. Only the original cast managed to lift it above dire. Daisy Ridley looks the part. But then she talks. And she's posh. John Boyega gets slightly better as the film progresses although it's too little too late.
My expectations weren't set very high, after all Star Trek was good but not great, and I was thinking if it was a three star film I'd be happy. In the end, it's better than the prequels - but only just. They were annoying, this is lacklustre.
