Remember, kids, Saruman blackpilled doomscrolling his palantir
Great skid row drama. Shockingly bleak for a mainstream 60s American drama with a big name cast. Opens with a downbeat rendition of the ending from its a wonderful life then successfully time jumps into an even more depressing present. Compelling in its depiction of community, these five lost souls adopting this kid. I’d argue this is Burl Ives best role after Big Daddy. Winters and Montalban both hit their beats well. But Ella Fitzgerald is the biggest surprise of the affair, playing a demure dope addict.
