This movie was so packed and I don’t know how i feel about it, its my least favorite bergman but its still good. It felt like a combination of all his themes into one movie. They were all fleshed out and I liked that. But I didn’t enjoy it like his other films(The seventh seal, persona, autumn sonata)
So this is a very hard movie to review, its pretty hard to put into words how this movie made me feel and what made me think, its packed with themes about life, death, religion, power, self fulfillment, and art. It tackles all those themes simultaneously and seamlessly, everything flows perfectly as you get to be with the characters as stuff happens on their journey to the zone. And the zone itself is honestly its own character in a way,…
This movie tackled the theme of morality and the horror of war, i loved that, the movie was haunting and scary, some really good performances by the entire cast especially Marlon Brando.
The cinematography in this movie is stunning, its beautiful, some of the best i’ve seen.
The pacing in this movie was god awful, it was too slow at times and then speeds up and then slows down, some scenes were faster than others and i just wasn't a fan of the pacing.
I think this movie needs a rewatch where I'm not actually about to sleep.
