I can't say I really enjoyed this film but I deeply wish there were a group of magical terrorists who could make my life finally bearable

Swing Time 1936
My first Fred & Ginger. Pretty entertaining and wow the dancing is out of this world! Loved thinking about their world both in the movie and offscreen. What a time.

Gold Diggers of 1933 1933
Well! I asked local radio DJ Bad Wizard who also runs a vintage store for some old times movies that are fun and not sappy and she recommended this and it delivered! Lots of cool tricks like singing in pig Latin and neon violins and choreography and a roller skating baby! I haven't seen any films like this so it is hard for me to compare it to anything but I enjoyed it and I guess the guy Bubsy or…

Beyond the Valley of the Dolls 1970
What is there to even say about this. Went in blind and had a riotous good time. Screened at MM miniplex

Evil Dead II 1987
Beautiful practical effects showcase. Love the purple mist, lightning, bloody barnwood aesthetic. And I want to lick Bruce Campbell's body. The whole thing elevated by a great score. Man, what an unexpected masterpiece.

Galaxy Quest 1999
Holds up absolutely. Great film. Loved seeing it in the theatre with a bunch of drunk nerds. Never give up! Never surrender!

The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers 2002
What I watched was the 4 hour version in the IMAX theatre for 7.50$ and holy shit what a way to escape a heatwave

Thief 1981
I found it a completely different viewing experience in 35mm (Dan Halstead at Hollywood Theatre), and without friendly experts chatting in the sidebar (cathodeTV). Loved sitting next to a dude who had never seen it before. He gasped and put his hands to his face at all the right parts. Everyone cheered with James was shirtless on the beach. I feel like I'm just about at the part of my rushed furious attempt to create a life for myself where…

Earth Girls Are Easy 1988

Fire of Love 2022
Pretty much as good as it gets. French people have a great history of anthropomorphising the natural world. Maybe this is why British nature film is so dry. Anyway, I cried in the theater some, which I think is okay, because I am a person and I allow myself to be moved by art. It's also a great way to cry about other things but if anyone looks they just figure you're crying a little bit about a love story…
