"As it turns out, I'm capable of much unpleasantness."
After viewing his latest, I couldn't help but think how incredibly excited yet nervous I would be if I could spend a day in Yorgos Lanthimos' mind.
A duck race. Pelting a naked man with oranges. Early 18th century equivalent of Duck Hunt. Pet rabbits. A devilishly sinister yet delightfully entertaining conflict between three distinct women. And leg rubs. What else do you expect from Lanthimos?
The entire ensemble is brilliant but Rachel Weisz was the standout for me. She rattles off the sizzling dialogue with such ease. Her line delivery of "You look like a badger" is Oscar worthy. Her performance was impeccable.
P.S. That fish-eye lens though!
