Justin Solan’s review published on Letterboxd:
I’m pretty sure my dad showed this to me when I was a kid, but I barely remember anything from my initial viewing.
I went into this technically blind and was overwhelmed with one of the most suspenseful films ever made.
Everything that can be said about this movie has been said, but I do want to gush over how beautiful this looks. I rented the UHD version and it was stunning. Carpenter and Cundey are able to get the absolute most out of this desolate environment. The vast blinding white tundra, the fire from flamethrowers lighting up the icy environment, the beautiful anamorphic lens flares, the researchers’ orange flares contrasting with the blue/purple lighting. Everything is beautiful.
