Talk about a shift in tone.
I can see why the general reaction to this is so mixed. It doesn't hold a candle to the original by any means but neither do any of the other sequels/prequels/remakes.
The opening was pretty good but after that I felt like I was missing something or just not getting it. Like during the chainsaw fight and ending sequences I felt like it was meant to be more entertaining than I was actually finding it. Maybe it's just me. Chop Top was incredibly annoying and Lefty was Lefty. Stretch was likable enough still.
It's too bad they didn't do much of anything with the chili competition stuff in this or any other entries. Kind of a missed opportunity.
