Tearjerkers Challenge 2019 - Task #19: A dog movie
After Certain Women and this, Kelly Reichardt is quickly becoming one of my favorite filmmakers. Looks like her work will be reliable when I'm feeling the need to be fucked up by cinema. So far so good.
This is one of the better paced films I've seen. It's only 80 minutes long but it covers a lot of ground and never feels rushed while making full use of its runtime. Michelle Williams as always was great and I loved the relationship between Wendy and Lucy a lot. Definitely not an easy decision to make and regardless of how painful it is I'm glad Wendy made the compassionate choice in the end. I hope things went okay for both of them after the film ends.
