  Damien Chazelle is something else. Very randomly got the chance to watch this today and am very grateful for the opportunity as Damien Chazelle, Brad, Margot and others were there. 

  This movie is something. Frenetic, fast-paced, extraordinarily explicit in every sense. There are orgies, racism and worse. Yet it’s thoroughly engaging throughout.   I’m back. 

  Eggers delivered with this. A stunning visual experience with beautifully choreographed action sequences in tandem with all the brutality one could ask for - however that’s about it. The movie, while masterfully shot, directed and performed, lacks a lot of the substance that makes Eggers’ other films so great. 

  The narrative here feels ultimately pointless given the ending and how little fleshing out there is with the characters. It actually feels like a video game at times given…
