  More nihilistic modification of the flesh from Tsukamoto. This time a brutal pounding; pulpy flesh and gushing blood. Feelings of heartbreak and inadequacy amped up to the masculine extreme worked through with sweat and bone.
  Many of Tsukamoto's talents as a filmmaker come through best here, his Gonzo handheld visuals and the kinetic fury of his editing excel this beyond the boundaries of the material. Not to mention his striking lead performance.
  So far he's been my favourite director to explore this year, many horrors to come.

  Tish's fire burns right through this doc, a searing portrait of a special talent seen as just another number in the system.
  I see so much of my own life in her works and words, even though decades apart in experiences. The working class struggle is continuous and never ending.
