i find this movie, as a concept, incredibly moving but i really couldn't get past labeouf's and hedges's performances (which kind of spoils the ending.......)
loved noah jupe tho!
i don't know what i was wanting, but for some reason i wasn't expecting it to be so much of a genre film??
i think i was hoping for an exploration of--or at least some tension to come out of--van dorn's calvinist beliefs (beyond reciting TULIP), but unfortunately, it felt totally incidental and unnecessary. (would the movie have been that much different if he weren't religious?)
eh, it was well-paced and enjoyable tho, and scott was great as always
