Deeply unsettling, but utterly captivating. ‘The Killing of a Sacred Deer’ is uncomfortable to watch, but the performances are excellent. The dialogue is delivered in a monotone manner – Lanthimos’s trademark approach – but it works, ratcheting up the unease.
Not to detract from the performances, which are wonderful, the sound design is the real star of Chan-wool Park's excellent 'Stoker'. Intricately constructed, the sound is the silent glue holding everything together. Listen.
