Fernando Pelaez Rovalo’s review published on Letterboxd:
To say Rocketman was a good movie would be an absolute understatement. There’s so much right in this movie that the wrongs just seem to disappear. The movie flows like water on a stream, with every single musical number connecting the times and emotions through the troubling, yet incredible career of the extremely talented Elton John. It’s presented in such an original way, every single biopic needs to reconsider what the hell they were thinking about. Rather than telling a factually correct story (which it is for the most part), the focus of the movie is in exploring the mind and personal demons of a man whom we all knew had troubled times, but knowing is not the same as understanding. I was afraid this movie would turn out to be another music biopic (it may have some moments), but it was so much more than that. I laughed, I obviously cried and I had an incredible time with one of the best music biopics to ever be created. Go watch it now!
