Andy Ferguson’s review published on Letterboxd:
A new Kelly Reichardt film is always a welcomed breath of fresh air, but especially right after seeing such an exhausting piece of trash like Swiss Army Man.
I'm not sure the auteur has made a better film since Old Joy a decade ago, which is saying a lot considering every one of her pieces of work is a grounded achievement in portraying genuine landscapes and people. Certain Women is restrained, not only in its storytelling, but in its performances. It never feels less than fully lived-in, inside each aspect.
It is a great moment in American cinema this year.
