FhantomFilms’s review published on Letterboxd:
Decided to rewatch this after rereading the book, and it holds up fairly well. For a 2001 movie, the special effects are surprisingly good, and the cast, though young and inexperienced at this point, does a decent job. It's also one of the more faithful adaptations of the books, including many of the major plot points. Though perhaps that's also because this is the shortest book by far of the series, so there is less to adapt. Either way, one of the better movies of the series in my opinion.
