Couldn't have been any better!
The most earnest of political films, with a sizzling final hour that features the best moments of James Stewart's career (his performance here casts such a shadow that he won an Oscar the following year, imo, for simply being in The Philadelphia Story), 'Mr. Smith Goes to Washington' nonetheless falls short of Capra's other masterpieces due to some structural flaws.

A complete joy! Sweet, emotional, creative, and consistently very funny. A perfect ending, too. (All the feels.) Shades of Grand Budapest Hotel at times (which is awesome), and I agree with BAFTA nominating Hugh Grant for Supporting Actor. He’s terrific. (Stay for his scene in the closing credits!)
Better than the first, and perhaps my favorite film of 2017 when all's said and done.
It's top-tier film-making.
