Filipe Furtado’s review published on Letterboxd:
Fine actors working with some labored allegory and rendered through as many one perfect shots as Pawlikowski and his cinematographer can get. It is all very competent and Pawlikowski gets points with me by not getting his follow up effort be bloated and settle for 85 minutes. It never moves much beyond academic. The main question remains how such a moderate talent who has been around for near 20 years can become hot new thing. At least it is much better than Ida and have I mention the short running time?
