Filipe Furtado’s review published on Letterboxd:
Some nasty Lovercraftian fun from those two minor masters of modern American horror Stuart Gordon and Brian Yuzna. Shot in Spain for Yuzna's short lived Spanish company, it is the sort of film in which the heroine is offered to a sea god monster in a pit naked and full bloodied. It has a tense paranoic progression and as usual with Gordon the meeting of his stage trained sensibility and gross out horror makes space always formally interesting (that is also why his actually stagebound films like Edmond are his least interesting). And in the middle of all the horror fireworks there is the great Francisco Rabal giving one final outstanding performance.
