Filipe Furtado’s review published on Letterboxd :
More of a civics lesson about the importance of American/Russian cooperation during the war and plead for peace after than anything that ressembles a movie. The material with the Stalanist purges is hilarious. That said, perception of this remains skewed by American natural anti-communism. This is hardly pro Stalin propaganda but anti- anticommunism propaganda the criticism is on the bad faith that diplomatic community has against Russia, not interested in presenting Soviet Union as idealized other, but a sympathetic other that still remains an oher from American society, it is about the fact that unlike fascism, communism isn't evil which only qualify as huge propaganda if we were told your whole life that isn't truth. Walter Huston does wonders with what he has to work with, Michael Curtiz is g9iven a very bad hand.
